Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh (RTP), formally known as Christmas in April, sponsors a one-day home repair renovation program serving low-income, elderly homeowners and individuals with disabilities. The primary goal is to keep these individuals living in homes they have enjoyed for so many years, by making them safe, warm and dry. RTP also provides year round support with emergency home repairs for elderly homeowners through "Operation Urgent Care." More than 1000 volunteers and sponsors representing Corporations, the Pittsburgh Building Trades, the Pittsburgh Steelers, civic groups, schools, utility companies and foundations, support Rebuilding Together Day each year. The event is held annually on the last Saturday of April. All reparis and home modifications are completed free
