Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh (RTP), formally known as Christmas in April, sponsors a one-day home repair renovation program serving low-income, elderly homeowners and individuals with disabilities. The primary goal is to keep these individuals living in homes they have enjoyed for so many years, by making them safe, warm and dry. RTP also provides year round support with emergency home repairs for elderly homeowners through "Operation Urgent Care."

More than 1000 volunteers and sponsors representing Corporations, the Pittsburgh Building Trades, the Pittsburgh Steelers, civic groups, schools, utility companies and foundations, support Rebuilding Together Day each year. The event is held annually on the last Saturday of April.

All reparis and home modifications are completed free of charge to the homeowner. For details contact RTP Executive Director Cindy Gilch: cgilch@mbawpa.org.

Since 1993, the Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh has:

Since the program's inception in 1992, the MBA has supported Rebuilding Together (formerly Christmas In April). Every year, MBA contractors team up with the building trades to support this home repair and renovation initiative.

MBA contractors provide the skilled project managers/supervisory people needed to coordinate the individual projects, donate flooring, lumber, drywall, ceiling tile, heavy equipment and other materials to offset costs, and provide significant financial contributions.

The MBA also provides free office space and use of equipment to the Rebuilding Together staff, as well as meeting facilities. Go to www.rebuildingtogether-pgh.org to get involved!
