Selection Criteria
Submissions will be judged according to how well the building team- contractor, owner and architect - worked together to enhance the owner's investment in the project. Winning projects will be selected according to the following criteria:

• Exceptional Design and Craftsmanship
• Excellence in Project Teamwork
• Innovation in Construction Techniques
• Meeting the Challenge of a Difficult Job
• Client Satisfaction

Categories include:

• Projects over $7 Million (must have a direct construction contract w/ owner)
• Projects under $7 Million (must have a direct construction contract w/ owner)
• Excellence in Craftsmanship (Work self performed by contractor's workforce)
• Design-Build (Utilize design-build delivery system)

Requirements
Projects must be located in Western PA
Substantially completed between June 1, 1999 and June 1, 2002
Built by a Regular, Associate or MICA member of the MBA
Submit maximum of two projects per category

Submission Details
Select the projects you wish to submit. Send in registration form along with a $50 entry fee per project. You are encouraged to contact the design professional or owner to assist in providing photos, renderings, endorsement letters, etc.

Deadline
Complete the kit(s) and return to the MBA office no later than 5:00 pm, Tuesday, September 17, 2002.

2002 Awards Jury
The jury will consist of three impartial construction professionals representing the design, contractor and owner communities. These individuals will review the written submissions and make site visits to those which are short-listed.

Awards Presentation
The general contractors, owners and architects of the winning projects are honored at the MBA Annual Dinner on January 17, 2003.

Marketing Opportunity
The MBA Building Excellence Awards provide a great opportunity to showcase MBA contractors' quality work to the building industry and general public. Every entry will be featured in a special flyer inserted in AIA Columns Magazine and in the Pittsburgh Business Times, as well as the MBA's extensive mailing list.
