C-4, April, 1987
Bidders Information Sheet

The Joint Committee recommends that a bidder's information sheet should be included in the specifications.

The bidder's information sheet shall include the following:

  1. Date and hour bid is due.

  2. Where and to whom bid is to be delivered, including street address.

  3. Whether or not it is a public bid opening.

  4. Number of copies of proposal or bid forms required.

  5. In what form the bid is to be typed: Contractor's letterhead, furnished bid form, or bid form bound in the specifications.

  6. Any Bid Bond or Certified Check required should be stated in a stipulated amount of dollars and not as a percentage of contract dollars. Specify special form for bid bond if required (the committee recommends Standard AIA Form in single copy).

  7. When necessary or appropriate, state the date contract is to be awarded, date work is to start, and the date of completion.

  8. If bid form is not bound in specifications, all alternates and unit prices shall be listed or attached to the bid form.

  9. Yes or No statement as to whether latest edition AIA General Conditions apply, except as modified by specifications.

  10. State where "allowances" are to be found.

  11. State who obtains and pays for performance bond, fire insurance, other insurance, local permits, Labor and Industry plan approvals.

  12. A statement regarding Liquidated Damages. If none - so state!

  13. See Recommendation #-5 for the order of precedence between Drawings and Specifications.
